HOW TO USE ODBOSO FILE RETRIEVAL TO RETRIEVE DELETED FILES

IThe file status shows the minimum proven damage of a deleted file. The actual file condition may
be worse, but files with "Excellent" status can be recovered 100% almost. Files with "Poor" status
might be recovered, but usually can’t and files with "Good" status have a better chance to be
recovered.

Deep Scan is very slow process but usually gives good results even though "usual" file recovery is not successful.

The following are file types Deep Scan support:
Picture Formats: BMP GIF JPG JPEG PCX PNG PSD TGA TIF TIFF
RAW Image Formats: CR2(CRW)(Canon CR2/CRW), NEF(Nikon NEF)  RAF(Fuji RAF), PEF(Pentax PEF), ORF(Olympus ORF)
Microsoft Office Document Formats: DOC(Microsoft Word) XLS(Microsoft Excel) PPT(Microsoft PowerPoint) VSD(Microsoft Visio)
Document Formats: 3DS DBF DXF PDF HTM HTML
Archive Formats: RAR ZIP
EMail Formats: DBX(Microsoft Outlook Express Email file) PST(Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders File) MSG(Microsoft Outlook Message file)
Multimedia Formats:  AVI 3GP MOV MP4 MIDI MP3 WAV CDR

Step 7: After deep scan completes, can you see files like FILE_XXX in the "Lost Files" Folders?
Screen of Odboso File Retrieval
Do you find your lost files and folders?

If you can see them, you can recover your lost files by clicking "Recover" button on the toolbar.

Note: These files no longer have Microsoft Windows file reference information. Odboso File Retrieval searches the entire hard drive and identifies these files by their structure (i.e. unique header, content, and footer information). Because the Microsoft Windows file reference information is changed, the original name of the deleted file is not available. Odboso File Retrieval renames Lost Files in the format "Cluster_[ClusterNumber].filetype". So the names and locations of lost files that Deep Scan finally find are not same with that of the original lost files. Names found are perhaps like “ClusterXXXX”. But file extension names usually remain same.
