Get ready for an epic adventure as Universal Studios brings Pokémon to life in a whole new way!
The Ultimate Pokémon Experience is Coming!
Universal Studios Japan has just announced a groundbreaking deal with The Pokémon Company, promising to revolutionize theme park entertainment. But here's where it gets controversial: they're not just talking about a few rides or shows. This partnership hints at something much bigger, potentially transforming entire lands into immersive Pokémon worlds.
The initial project details are still under wraps, but Universal Destinations & Experiences plans to roll out unique Pokémon experiences globally. And this is the part most people miss: Universal has become a master at leveraging intellectual property, creating immersive theme park experiences that blow guest expectations out of the water.
Since 2021, Universal and Pokémon have collaborated on parades and shows at Universal Studios Japan. But the new agreement suggests a much grander scale, possibly including rides, attractions, or even dedicated Pokémon lands.
Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, emphasizes the importance of imaginative storytelling: "Collaborating with creative visionaries allows us to deliver mind-blowing attractions that exceed guest expectations."
Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokémon Company, adds, "As we celebrate Pokémon's 30th anniversary, we're thrilled to launch this new project at such a significant milestone. Our goal is to enrich both the real and virtual worlds through Pokémon, and this project aims to create theme park entertainment that surprises and delights fans worldwide."
Tak Murayama, executive VP & GM of Universal Studios Japan, concludes, "We're proud to launch this global project from Japan, offering extraordinary moments that transcend traditional entertainment and embody the spirit of 'NO LIMIT!'"
